Matt Emsell and Jaddan Comerford, two of the most respected names in the modern music industry space, have announced the launch of a new joint venture, 1825 Records. The new label was formed with a view to exporting new Australian acts overseas.

Comerford is the mind behind UNIFIED, one of the world’s fastest growing music companies, and Emsell is the founder and director of Wonder Management, whose roster boasts the likes of 5 Seconds of Summer and Matt Corby.

Together, the two are hoping to develop a stable of new Australian acts and exporting them overseas, much as they have done with acts like 5SOS, Vance Joy, and The Amity Affliction.

“I’m stoked to be able to finally announce 1825 Records with one of my best friends Matt Emsell,” said Comerford. “Our combined passion for Australian Music and global business, is something I am very excited to continue to develop.”

“I also couldn’t be happier to be extending our relationship not only with Tony Harlow and the crew at Warner Music Australia but also Craig Kallman, Julie Greenwald, and Stefan Max at Atlantic Records.”

The first artist signed to 1825 Records is Sydney multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer-songwriter Xavier Dunn. Dunn is a swiftly rising star in the local Aussie music scene, having send singles to Number 1 on the Hype Machine chart and Number 2 on the Global Viral Spotify Chart.
