Premiere: Emma Anglesey Takes Us On A Stunning Tour Through Tasmanian Wilderness

Tasmanian singer-songwriter Emma Anglesey has just released a treat of a clip for her new single ‘Mary-Anne’, showing off not only some pretty scenery, but an equally-pretty composition.

“Mary-Anne is about how you don’t always know where the road is leading, and stuff happens that’s totally out of your control, but you just keep going,” Emma tells us of the track’s themes – a sentiment perfectly captured by the stunning clip, produced in collaboration with Tim Kling (Sarah Blasko, Chase City), which takes us on a journey through the glorious Tasmanian wilderness.

“My friend Tim Kling suggested we go on a road trip to Lake Pedder in Tasmania’s South West and this inspired us to make the film clip. We both had relationship stuff going down and we found as we drove out of Hobart and into the wilderness that the landscape really affected us and shifted our emotional state.”

“It’s an emotional pain killer and I wrote it to turn a feeling of struggle into a feeling of revelling in the fight,” Emma continues. “The song was inspired by a time when all my housemates were going through something rough and I kind of wrote it to help us all get through,”

The journey continues for Emma this month on an East Coast tour (dates below), which kicks off this Friday in Launceston and carries on through the mainland towards the end of the month.
