Metallica are currently on the campaign trail promoting their forthcoming new album, Hardwired… to Self-Destruct, and much like the presidential campaign trail, frontman James Hetfield has been forced to address the big issues.
Namely, what’s with all these celebrities wearing Metallica shirts to try and gain some street cred? You know exactly what we’re talking about, you’ve probably even rolled your eyes at the sight of Kim K strutting around in a Metallica tee.
Hetfield recently sat down with the people from BuzzFeed Mexico and addressed the issue, sharing his thoughts on pics of various celebs in Metallica merch, including Avril Lavigne, and Kim K herself, whom Hetfield jokingly referred to as “Kanye West in drag.”
All in all, Hetfield is pretty chill about the whole thing and doesn’t doubt the possibility that many of the celebs are legitimate Metallica fans, but he’s also down for a laugh too. Check out the video in the embed below.
