Our very own Courtney Barnett was out there on the front lines yesterday, consoling our brothers and sisters in America, who now have to deal with a psycho basically controlling all three branches of government.

Barnett was performing in Denver at the time and played a charming rendition of fellow Australian songwriter Dan Kelly’s tune ‘Drunk On Election Night’, which pretty much sums up the sentiment of a lot of Americans.

Always one to support her fellow Australian musos (she’s often seen sporting the T-shirts of her favourite local bands and her labelmates), you can see Barnett performing the cover in the footage below.

If you happen to be American and the clip doesn’t provide you with any kind of respite, you can always take up Canadian singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco on his marriage offer. Musicians – always trying to help, eh?
