Melbourne’s Cherry Bar on ACDC Lane is one of the go-to destinations for any rock and roll fan living or visiting the great city, which it should be noted is widely regarded as one of the great music cities of the world.

A beloved haunt for rockers old-school and new, it’s one of the few places that a riff-loving rock pig can still go to enjoy a cold brew and hits from all of the giants of rock, including Thin Lizzy, Motley Crue, and yes, AC/DC.

As a celebrated Melbourne institution, it’s only right then that the Cherry Bar have its own theme song and Melbourne blues rock kings Smoke Stack Rhino have taken it upon themselves to give us one.

Well I know a dirty den in the heart of town“, ‘Party People of the Cherry Bar’ opens. The bluesy number is the perfect drinking song for when you’re chugging brew at your favourite Melbourne-based home of rock and roll.

The song even makes a reference to the venue’s past struggles with noise complaints from local residents. “We got the boys in the corner getting ready to fight / The next-door neighbour gonna cry all night“, the band sings in the tune.
