Aussie comedian and YouTuber friendlyjordies likes to turn his satirical gaze to the music world occasionally. We’ve seen him rip apart triple j listeners, Falls Festival and Stereosonic punters, as well as completely eviscerating Mike Baird and Sydney’s lockout laws and The X Factor.

Now he’s decided to rip apart pop music in general. In his latest video, the YouTuber basically framed Top 40 pop pap as the soundtrack to the decline of modern society, holding it responsible for contributing to the dumbing down of the human race.

He even takes it out on our very own Sia, comparing her approach to songwriting, in which the Adelaide native takes a concept — chandeliers, elastic, titanium, etc. — and goes full stream-of-consciousness on it, to vomit.

We are of course big fans of Sia, but his take is admittedly hilarious. Besides, he also slams The Chainsmokers and their inane Halsey collaboration ‘Closer’ and we have absolutely no qualms about criticising those two nincompoops.
