Today we’ve got for you the debut release from 18-year-old rocker Danté, a cover of seminal Aussie rock number ‘Under The Milky Way’.

Citing the Aussie pub rock scene as his main influence, it’s no surprise that Danté chose The Church’s 1988 classic for his emergence, and he takes the opportunity to imbue it with a heavy, guitar-driven edge, and bust out a searing solo that shows off the guitar chops he’s been refining in pubs across the country since he was young.

An added dash of classic Aussie rock comes courtesy of a bit of extra help from some icons of the Aussie music. “I knew I needed a special element to achieve the sound I wanted to create,” Danté explains, “so I asked Ray Tosti, one of the founding members of Hunters and Collectors and ARIA Hall of Fame inductee, to lend his vocals to add another dimension to the song.”

Recorded in Danté’s home studio while he was still busy finishing off his VCE, the track was also produced by Ray’s brother Tony Tosti, also a local industry veteran. “Together we created a distinctive combination of the classic song with a really modern rock sound,” Danté adds.

At only 18, Danté is hoping to lead the charge for a resurgence of classic Aussie rock when he drops his debut EP next year – stay tuned.
