Surf Coast outfit Children Of The Sun have just dropped their second single of the year, the bright indie rock jam ‘Sally’.

The band cite the catchy brightness as a throwback to the sound of their 2015 debut EP, as opposed to the darker tones they’d been dabbling with earlier this year, and it’s a move that pays off for them in spades, with ‘Sally’ the ideal soundtrack to warm days in the backyard or the beach.

“So fuck you Sally, you caaan’t come into my home,” the band sing, similarities to the likes of The Libertines poking through in the rollicking, shifting energy. Jimi Wyatt of Ginger Studios (Paul Kelly, The McQueens) and Zac Barter (Canary, Life Is Better Blonde) step in on mixing and recording respectively, and they’ve polished the band’s rough edges just enough.

We reckon this one will sound pretty damn good on the live stage as well, and you’ll be able to catch them launching it on December 2 at The Barwon Club, Geelong and December 7 at Bar Open, Fitzroy.
