As many Tool fans will know, Maynard James Keenan is very good at doing things that aren’t Tool related. Bearing that in mind, he’s just revealed that A Perfect Circle have some big, non-Tool-related plans for next year.

As Metal Injection reports, Keenan is currently on the campaign trail plugging his new biography, A Perfect Union of Contrary Things, which is filled with Keenan trivia, including the fact that he almost fronted Rage Against The Machine.

During a promotional stop in Los Angeles, the frontman and winemaker was joined by good friend and A Perfect Circle bandmate Billy Howerdel. During a discussion between the two, they revealed APC will be on the move in 2017.

According to Metal Injection, A Perfect Circle fans can expect a tour next year, including a gig at the Hollywood Bowl on 7th May. Apparently, they’ve even been working on some new material so a new record could see its way to release.

It’s been a good 13 years since we last had an official studio release from A Perfect Circle. Thirteenth Step came out all the way back in 2003 and 2004’s eMOTIVe was comprised mostly of covers.

Meanwhile, during a recent meet-and-greet in Salt Lake City, Tool guitarist Adam Jones revealed that he and bandmates Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor have been in the studio three days a week.

The result of this schedule has been two albums’ worth of new material recored. However, only five of the songs that have been completed actually “meet their Tool standard” and Keenan is yet to contribute to any of the tracks.
