Today we have a new track and clip from Sydney duo Neighbourhood Void, the raw and disaffected ‘Chemical Imbalance’.

Shot entirely on Super 8 film, the clip serves as a documentary of sorts, a glimpse into the cycle of poverty, homelessness and addiction, and a commentary on the effect it’s had on the band members and their city.

Sometimes muddy and blurred, its erratic shots perfectly illustrate the feelings of anger and hopelessness found in the song itself, a raw two-minute dirge that holds nothing back lyrically – (“crystal methamphetamine/you tore apart what was left of me”).
