Sydney rockers The Wildbloods have just dropped the clip for their rollicking recent single ‘Don’t Be Shy’, taken from their upcoming debut record, a fun little narrative about rock and romance.

“We wanted to tell the story of the song in a light hearted and fun way that reflects our laid back approach to life,” explains bassist Jensen. “As a band we’re always joking around, having a laugh and never quite taking ourselves too seriously and I think it shines through in this video.”

The clip’s protagonist, meanwhile, is lead guitarist Justin Wildblood goes on to explain why the band picked him to play the part.

“I used to be heavily involved in theatre to the point where I went on tour throughout Asia for several months,” he says. “In fact the lead female in the video went on that same tour with me and we’ve been good mates ever since.”

According to frontman Johnny Wildblood, the location also means a lot to the band.

“The video was shot in the carpark of the lockup recording studio and in the live music venue across the road at Studio Six in Sutherland,” he tells us. “We recorded our first EP there and have played countless shows at Studio Six so both locations hold a special place in our hearts.”

It might be a way off yet, but you’ll be able to catch them all launching their single ‘Amy Baby’ on Saturday January 28 at the Oxford Art Factory.
