Much-hyped UNFD signing Ocean Grove are set to release their eagerly-awaited debut album on February 3rd, named The Rhapsody Tapes, and have unveiled the vid for album track ‘Intimate Alien’ below.

The band aren’t just dropping a record, they claim, but instead kicking off their own genre, ‘Odd World Music’ – an ethos that the group say will inform every aspect of the record, and all that goes along with it.

“The Rhapsody Tapes explores a fascination with a warped perception of reality,” says frontman Luke Holmes of their full-length debut. “It tells parallel stories that come in waves… and parts of the album are written from the view of a child standing on the edge, looking out into a hyperreality in search of something.”

Produced entirely by the band in drummer/producer Sam’s basement, the record is an example of the group’s ground-up, DIY approach to the project, which extends from the music itself to their album art to their video clips.

“Although some of the themes we discuss are commonly touched upon by many artists, we hope to present our art in a way that is incongruous with most, and that is the theme that binds all these songs and topics together – Odd World,” explains Dale. “We explore the nuances that come with that freedom and obscurity.”

The first glimpse of this comes in the form of ‘Intimate Alien’, a pleasantly bonkers clip with some fantastic production behind it. Give it a spin, and mark Feb 3 in your calendars.
