KLF, the group that invented trolling well before the internet, will be back this August, according to a cryptic poster seen around London in the past few days. This will mark their first activity in 23 years.

Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty are well known for their publicity stunts, including setting fire to a million pounds, firing machine gun blanks into the audience during an award ceremony, and releasing a step-by-step guide which shows how to have a number one record (a guide that The Klaxons reportedly followed in order to launch their own career).

The poster says they will be back in August 23, 2017 – adding “the Justified Ancients Of Mu Mu have no interest in anything that seeks to comment on, bounce off, glorify, debunk or resurrect their historical work.”

The above moniker is one of many the duo adopted throughout their career, along with K Foundation, The Timelords (under which they released their earliest work) and 2K.

The group had a number of hit singles, including ‘3 A.M. Eternal’, ‘What Time Is Love?’ and the enduring, endearing ‘Justified and Ancient’ with Tammy Wynette. Most of their work is now unavailable, due to copyright infringements – they were very liberal samplers, back in the day.
