Donald Glover is having a banner 2017 and we’re not even a month in. The producer, script writer, rapper (better known as Childish Gambino), actor (most recently as Lando Calrissian in Star Wars) and two-time Golden Globe nominee has just signed a deal with FX Productions that includes developing a new TV series.

FX is the company which airs his own TV series, Atlanta, in the US. FX has delayed Season 2 to 2018 due to The Don’s hectic production schedule. Considering Glover writes, directs, executive produces and is the star of Atlanta, and he’s filming this year for the still-to-be-titled Han Solo Star Wars release, we get it.

While we’re just getting over the fact Australia will soon get Atlanta season one courtesy of SBS and its channel-formerly-known-as-SBS 2, VICELAND, Glover is working on a new TV series for FX.

Details are scarce, but Deadline, which broke the story, reports the new show will be developed for other networks and streaming services – let’s hope VICELAND are all over this like white on rice.

Nick Grad, president of original programming, FX Networks and FX Prods announced the new deal:

Atlanta was just the beginning, the breakout comedy of the year and a series revered as much for its originality as its honest look at the experience of being aspiring, young and black in that legendary city. We’re proud to partner with Donald in an overall deal that will allow him to continue turning his creative vision into incredible television.”

If you haven’t caught Atlanta already, check out the trailer for season one below.
