We got news back in December that Pearl Jam were going to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame this year, but we’ve now discovered how big that induction is going to be.

Alongside other musical visionaries such as Journey, Yes, ELO, Joan Baez, and Tupac Shakur, Pearl Jam are one of the most publicised names set to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame this year in April.

Now, as Rolling Stone reports, it has been announced just who is going to be doing a few of the actual indications. Progressive rock heroes Rush are set to induct their English contemporaries Yes, Jackson Browne has been tapped to induct folk hero Joan Baez, and living legend Neil Young has been asked to induct friends and collaborators, Pearl Jam.

As many music fans would recall, Neil Young sadly cancelled his upcoming Aussie performance at Bluesfest on April 14th of this year due to undisclosed reasons. Considering that the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony is set to occur on April 7th, it’s unknown whether a performance at the ceremony could be the reasoning for Young’s cancellation, but it could have some fans asking some questions.

A few months back, we also mentioned how the group’s former drummer Dave Abbruzzese wasn’t too happy (and rightly so) about his being snubbed from the Hall Of Fame induction, so we can only hope that Pearl Jam will honour his contributions to their early success.

In the meantime though, let’s reminisce back to the halcyon days of the mid 90’s, where we saw frequent performances between Neil Young and Pearl Jam.
