Darkness is currently imprisoning Metallica, with the band forced to cancel a Copenhagen show due to James Hetfield’s health.

The singer has been having issues which are affecting his throat, and tried to shut down a show mid-set on Friday night, amidst cries of protest.

As Loudwire report, Hetfield was struggle through the set, at one point saying: “It’s not fair to you guys, man. You paid a lot of money to come see your favorite band and we don’t sound good. I want to leave it up to you, man. Would you rather hear us sound better another time? I want to stop, what do you say?”

Obviously the crowd, in the middle of a Metallica show, weren’t up for rescheduling, and yelled “no” at him.

“Okay, you asked for it. I’ll keep doing my best, all right? I appreciate you guys so much man, thank you for supporting.”

Unfortunately, that show made him worse, and the band were forced to cancel the following night’s show. Writing on Facebook, the band said, in part:

We’re very disappointed to have to share with you that unfortunately as Saturday has progressed, James’ health, and specifically his throat, is not improving and he is under strict doctor’s orders to not sing one single note. So sadly we have to report that we will be postponing tomorrow’s show.”

They have a fairly tight schedule, and have added: “We are monitoring James’ voice on a day-to-day basis so watch this space for updates.”
Hopefully this isn’t a long-term problem.
