Like David Bowie’s Blackstar, Leonard Cohen’s final album, You Want It Darker is rife with allusions to the late great legend’s impeding death.

Visual artist Sammy Slabbinck is one of the few artists Cohen trusted to help aide his final vision, and now “with the excellent guidance” of Cohen’s son, Adam, he has constructed a lyric video for album standout ‘Traveling Light.’

“I feel a lot stronger,” Cohen jokes at the start of the clip, as he smokes a cigarette in the sun, “but I’m actually a lot weaker.” Archival footage as well as unseen final videos of Cohen are intertwined to create a rather touching ode to the late artist.
