Sydney Symphony Orchestra will team with Diesel, David Campbell and more for two George Michael tribute concerts at Sydney Opera House.

Interestingly, the tribute started life on a happier note, intended to celebrate thirty years since the release of Michael’s debut album Faith proved he was more than mere boy band fodder.

Since his untimely passing, the tribute is now a celebrate of his life’s work, encompassing thirty of his greatest hits.

Joining Diesel and David Campbell on stage are the likes of Sam Sparro, Brendan Maclean, Jade MacRae, Gary Pinto, Carmen Smith and Natasha Stuart.

“George Michael was my pop idol growing up”, David Campbell explains. “A video star who could really sing and a songwriting ability which made him like a one man Beatles. He grew old with us. He was fearless.”

The two shows are on Thursday 6 July, and Friday 7 July at Concert Hall, Sydney Opera House.

All tickets are on sale from Saturday, 4 March.
