It’s going to be one hell of a One Night Stand this year, with triple j bringing the hugely in-demand Hottest 100 bronze-medalist Tash Sultana, as well as a huge roster of The Smith Street Band, Thundamentals and San Cisco, along for a free mini-festival.

But, while we knew the whopping bill, we were left hanging on the location until now. Congratulations Mount Isa, your North Queensland haunt – specifically your Tony White Oval – has scored this year’s very impressive lineup, and will be broadcast live for all the nation to hear on April 22.

If you’re not a North QLD local, it’s definitely a bill worth traveling for. Tash Sultana’s shows are sold out across the country, The Smith Street Band are back with a swag of new songs from their record, as are one of our fave hip hop groups Thundamentals, and San Cisco also have a new record on the way ready to be unleashed live.

All we have to wait for now is the announcement of the triple j Unearthed artist that’ll also be scoring a place at the bash, which will be revealed some time in the next few weeks.

It all goes down on Saturday April 22, with more info here. If you can’t make it out of the city, you’ll be able to hear it all live on triple j, along with various other bits and pieces of coverage throughout the event.
