Having shot into everyone’s minds and ears last year with her breakout hit ‘Adore’, Hottest 100 runner-up Amy Shark certainly won’t be working in a supermarket any time soon – and that’s probably for the best, if this new clip is any indication.

Directed by Jude Kalman, the clip finds Shark channeling the disaffected and unmotivated workers of Clerks, lazing about the supermarket aisles in a daze and generally just being a brat, joined by some equally-terrible co-workers.

“If there were ever an ‘Adore’ part 2 it would probably be ‘Weekends’,” Shark told Music Feeds of the track. “I remember some of the best days were when you would work a part time job and all you really cared about was making enough money to buy a few vodka lime sodas on Saturday night. It’s actually a pretty personal, semi-controversial song disguised as a big fun pop track!

“We hit that big hip hop shuffle behind the guitar riff and I was like, ‘This is so good…this is going to be the next single,” she added.

‘Weekends’ is taken from her upcoming debut EP, Night Thinker, which is set to drop on Friday April 21. Until then, you can catch this Shark playing Groovin The Moo next month, and supporting Milky Chance on their GTM sideshows.
