With Record Store Day just around the corner, there are plenty of goodies set to be unveiled, but it appears that a supposedly-unreleased track by Pink Floyd has been let out a little earlier than expected.

Set to be released for the first time on Record Store Day, the 15-minute version of ‘Interstellar Overdrive’ was apparently first recorded back in 1966, but never given an official release. However, while the pressing on April 22 will serve as the first time it’s been available to purchase, The Future Heart has revealed that the track is most likely already available for all to hear.

The site points out that the 15-minute version of the track was originally recorded for a documentary of the same length by filmmaker Andrew Stern, titled San Fran Cisco, and that the Record Store Day exclusive is very probably the same one found in full in the video below.

“To be clear, it can’t currently be said with absolute certainty that these two versions are one in the same,” the site says, “but given the numerous known similarities … it’s as close to confirmed as can be at this point.”

So, while you’ll still be able to pick up a pressing of the track on Record Store Day along with a bunch of other Pink Floyd rareties, it might be best to reserve judgement on this ‘unreleased’ version until further notice.

The good news is that, if you weren’t fussed about owning a copy and just wanted to hear the thing, it’s all yours:
