Having made plenty of waves with an appearance on The X Factor and their divisive cover of Simon & Garfunkel classic ‘The Sound Of Silence’, their bassis John Moyer has revealed that they’re taking a break for a few years.

“We did a 14-month album cycle on [2015’s] ‘Immortalized‘ record and that’s it,” he told Ultimate Guitar. “We’re going to take a break and I don’t think we’re going to have any touring plans until 2019.

“That’s the idea – we’re probably going to write a new record at some point but there are no plans right no.”

While Disturbed will be off our radios for the foreseeable future, he’ll be devoting his own time to his Art of Anarchy supergroup with Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal and Scott Stapp, while Disturbed frontman

“I would like [Art of Anarchy] to be [more than a one-off project]. I have a great time with these guys. I like to stay busy,” he said, adding that Disturbed might be starting to wind down a little.

“Disturbed will probably start to tour less and less as the years go by. We don’t need to be out there constantly. During those breaks, I would like this to be an ongoing thing.”

However, as Blabbermouth reports, Disturbed frontman David Draiman has told of plans to deliver an acoustic EP at some point in the future, covering the band’s biggest hits as well as some originals.

“Well, we’re still working on it. We haven’t really set a timeframe in stone,” they quote. “We’d like to kind of have as much time as we need to get it to the point that we’re as confident in it as we can possibly be, that we see the songs through to their fruition.

“There will be new original material – original acoustic pieces – as well as acoustic versions of existing songs within the catalog.”

Until then, will just leave this one on repeat.
