Roger Waters’ 1992 album Amused To Death was a scathing indictment of the modern culture of the time, with mass entertainment piped into households as the Gulf War raged in the background. Aside from the release of a confusing three-act opera in 2005, Waters has yet to follow up this masterwork, until now.

Is This The Life We Really Want follows a similar thematic path to Amused To Death, and will be available on June 2.

The album was produced and mixed by Nigel Godrich, who has worked with everyone from Radiohead and Paul McCartney to Beck and Pavement, and features 12 Waters-penned tracks. The album also features session guns Joey Waronker on drums, and Roger Manning on keyboards.
