Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters recently announced his return to solo work with new album Is This The Life We Really Want, his first rock album in a quarter of a century. Now, having already revealed the scathing lead single ‘Smell The Roses’, his latest tracks ‘Déjà Vu’ proves to be just as biting.

Pondering whether he’d have done a better job as God (by first pointing out that he’d have made alcoholism less visibly apparent on the face of a lifelong drinker), Waters begins gently enough, before completely unleashing momentarily at the two-minute mark. And, while his voice isn’t angelic, his emotion drives the verse home all the same.

Is This The Life We Really Want is out on June 2, and can be preordered now.
