You might recall a few months ago, Paramore’s new album was sort of announced due to fans noticing the band sneakily registered an album’s worth of tracks with ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) ACE Repertory. Well, the group’s penchant for secrets continued a few nights back as they performed a secret show in their hometown of Nashville, where they even threw in a cover of The Strokes for good measure.

To treat fans eagerly awaiting the group’s new record After Laughter, which was released yesterday, Paramore played a secret show at Exit/In, a venue in their hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.

In addition to performing tracks from their new album for the first time, the group also did what you’d expect and played a string of hits from their back catalogue. To the surprise of everyone though, just before launching into their biggest hit ‘Misery Business’, Hayley Williams did her best Julian Casablancas impression and busted out a cover of The Strokes’ ‘Someday’.

Let’s be fair though, the vertically-filmed video featured almost no vocals from Williams due to recording issues of some sort and is, at best, an instrumental cover from the group. Thankfully though, some other fans came through and managed to post a video which actually featured William’ vocals. Check out that video below.
