Metallica have a new trick in their set: stretching out the already-seven-minute-long Hardwired… tune ‘Now That We’re Dead’ to a hefty eleven minutes by segueing into a rather odd tribal drum circle, where the four Metallica guys earnestly whack massive drums in an attempt to make up for the tin can drum sound on St. Anger, no doubt.

Ulrich was asked about this new inclusion by Newsday, to which he replied: “I know it’s been on Hetfield’s laundry list for some time to experiment with a drum piece. He’s always been a bit of a closet drummer, so he suggested that we all somehow stitch together a drum interlude.”

A closet drummer! Hetfield! Not buying it, to be honest.
