One of Australia’s foremost singer-songwriters (not to mention rock legend former frontman of the beloved Powderfinger), Bernard Fanning is about to head out on tour in support of his soon-to-be-released LP Brutal Dawn.

Out this Friday, the album is a companion piece to his 2016 record Civil Dusk, which released late last year and hit #2 on the ARIA charts in the process.

The tour, meanwhile, will see Bern touring with his band The Black Fins, and also bringing along a genuinely cool lineup of support acts in some of our favourite emerging female acts: Oh Pep!, Tia Gostelow, Sahara Beck and Teischa.

Better yet, he’s playing multiple shows in smaller venues rather than the one show in a big venue, and the intimate surrounds should work wonders with his introspective solo work – and the Aussie rock classics.

“We decided after consulting widely with our Fan Club Focus Groups (one Facebook post), that playing pub type shows are the go,” he says.

“It is clear that the people that like my music, also like listening to it while they are drinking. To me that sounds like a party. So if you want to have a party with me and The Black Fins, and a whole lot of ladies who will be leading the support bands on this tour later this year, have a look at the below links for all of the where, when, how much and who with.

“See you for a drink in Spring.”

While we’d rather catch him in those cosy surrounds, beer in hand, Bernard will also be appearing at the Maroochy Music & Visual Arts Festival alongside Alison Wonderland and The Presets, and also providing the pre-game entertainment at the NRL’s 2017 State Of Origin.

UPDATE: More shows have been added following sold-out dates in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
