Who’s one of the biggest selling artists in the world at the moment? Why a band that broke up forty years ago, of course. Since the big news last week that iTunes would be selling The Beatles back catalogue online, Apple has announced that 450,000 albums and 2 million individual songs were sold on iTunes worldwide. However, in Britain only ‘Hey Jude’ cracked the top 40 on the singles chart, while on the albums chart only the ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ best of compilation albums charted. In the US, the band’s best-selling album was Abbey Road while the best-selling Stateside song was “Here Comes the Sun.”
