The All Tomorrow’s Parties festival has almost become a byword for well organised festivals providing real beds as opposed to camping and also an eclectic line up that can persuade legendary bands out of retirement to play.

So it’s somewhat inevitable that they would create a ‘younger sibling’ festival to run in addition to its prowess. Cleverly, they’ve named it ‘I’ll Be Your Mirror’ after the Velvet Underground b-side which gave its older sibling a name. The events which are designed to run in cities, will be first held in Tokyo on 27 February, before moving to London on 23-4 July.

The event will be curated by Bristol trip-hop cum middle class dinner party soundtrack stars Portishead. Portishead mastermind Geoff Barrow says “[We have] been given the horrendous task of joining up with our favourite festival in the world and choosing a dream list of bands we would like to play with – at least the ones that aren’t dead or in jail.”

The event will include performances by Liars, Swans, the Books, DOOM and Beach House, in addition to American hip-hop crew Company Flow.
