The Mars Volta have commented further on reunion rumours sparked by a reconciliation with their former At The Drive-In band mates. Speaking to Gigwise at Mercury Records HQ in West London, Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala said they’re happy to reconnect with their former band mates but rumours of reunions are unlikely to come true:

I wanted to be friends with the guys again. A reunion couldn’t happen any time soon because we have so much Mars Volta material.

Like the first girlfriend or sexual experience, you can never recreate that moment.
