A little over a year ago, Wavves frontman Nathan Williams revealed that when he “can’t be masturbating or smoking weed” that his next favourite thing to do in private is play video games. Revealing that he thought it went hand in hand with getting stoned, the divisive Williams said he’d one day love to work with video games, perhaps even writing a soundtrack.

Well it seems that he finally got off his backside and did something about it, revealing in a series of tweets that the band was working not just a soundtrack, but an entire video game. Tweeting from the Wavves Twitter account Williams revealed:

Approached by Pitchfork for comment Williams gave us a little more insight into the project. “All I can say for now is we are in the early stages of building levels and characters,” he said. “The premise is sort of a nightmare and the majority of the game will play like [the 1984 Atari game] “Paperboy” on acid or early “Simpsons” NES titles… and remember in the original “Paperboy” you get chased by zombies, tornadoes, and death so this shit gets pretty wild. Our good friends at [the fashion line] MISHKA are helping as well.”

Williams also tweeted a screenshot of the game so far which you can see below
