Tone Deaf is made possible by our dedicated team of music lovers located all around Australia. It takes a small army to cover events happening every week across the country as well as listen to hours of new music and talk to touring artists.
If you think you could help out in some way to our rapidly growing team please don’t hesitate to contact us with the details below. We’re always looking for new gig reviewers, album reviewers, and photographers to help us cover all the exciting things in music happening all around the country!
So how does it work?
Each fortnight we issue a list of the events nationwide and new music we’d like to cover in the coming weeks. We also sending out interview opportunities as they arise. Every contributor is given a chance to apply to cover any of the editorial options.
Our editorial team will then hand out assignments based on experience, availability, & skill. Once assigned, the Tone Deaf editorial team will do the rest of the heavy lifting, arranging for access to a new record or speaking directly with the tour promoters to arrange accreditation for a show.
Do I get paid?
All of Tone Deaf’s contributors are paid. In addition, Tone Deaf provides free tickets to all events for you to cover and in some cases may cover transport and accomodation costs.
How do I apply?
To help with your application please reference any relevant prior experience and attach any work you think we may find interesting.
Please understand that we get a huge volume of requests and emails and can’t alway respond immediately. Rest assured, we will get to your application eventually. We also can’t accept everyone who applies as there is only so much work to share around. If we can’t take you on straight away we will keep you on our list should something open up.
