Contributors

Tone Deaf is made up of a small editorial team supported by a large and growing number of volunteer contributors who venture out each week to cover gigs and tours across the country. As we continue to grow we need your help to keep pace of all the events happening each week. If you have a passion for live music, and have photography skills or are a skilled wordsmith we’d like to hear from you.

So how does it work?
Each week we issue a list of the events nationwide we’d like to cover in the coming weeks. Every contributor is given a chance to apply for whichever gigs they’d like. Our editorial team will then assign gigs based on experience, availability, & skill. Once assigned Tone Deaf will apply for access on your behalf to the promoters of each gig and once access has been confirmed you will receive all the details.

Do I get paid?
All of Tone Deaf’s contributors are volunteers and are not paid. Tone Deaf provides free tickets to all events for you to cover and in return ask for a small amount of work, either a photo gallery or review based on your skills.

Where do I sign up?
If you are interested in joining our team please email contribute@tonedeaf.com.au with a cover letter and some examples of your work (ie. photos or pieces you have written). We are particularly looking for more contributors in Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. If you are from elsewhere in Australia please still feel free to apply.
