What were your food influences when you were growing up and what kind of food did you eat at home or with your family?

When i grew up Dunedin city wasn’t the Culinary mecca that is today. So i remember alot of very boring meals. Meat and 3 vege type shit.

One thing i had EVERY single day was Cheese and branston pickle in some form or another on bread. Either Sandwiches…….or grilled Cheese and branston pickle……or toasted Sandwiches with cheese and branston pickle. It was the best and I thank my mum for that. As i still LOVE branston pickle on almost everything.

What dish or cuisine do you most like to eat on tour and why?

Well in California i like to eat amazing mexican food. In Japan i like to eat Amazing sushi. NYC i am obsessed with the pickles. In the UK i like to drown everything in vinegar.  in France i like to eat Cheese…..You kinda get my point. We like to soak up the vibes man………… I used to always like to tour with a Bottle of NZ’s amazing hot sauce. Which is called Kaitaia fire.www.kaitaiafire.com

What type of food do you hate, and what is the most disgusting thing you’ve ever eaten?

Eggs and Eggs.

What type of food do you make sure to avoid before a gig or going on stage?

I always try and not eat before we play. Always avoid a big meal……like don’t eat at this restaurant in NZ called LONE STAR before you play. It is almost impossible.

Imagine for a second you can request anything on your rider at a gig. What food do you put on it?

Branston Pickle, Irn Bru, NYC dill pickles and Kaitaia Fire.

What has been your biggest cooking disaster to date?

There was the time i food poisoned my poor family when i under cooked some turkey………I was about 9 at the time.

When you tour overseas, what food from home do you miss the most?
