Blake Noble is the serious business. Quitting his job, selling his stuff and hitting the road to Byron to focus entirely on music, Blake has been hitting his stride in 2011 with his 12-string percussive guitar flair. A Bluesfest fave and winner of the People’s Choice Award, Blake started the year with the release of his debut album Music For The End Of The World and will finish it with an appearance at Festival of The Sun this December before he packs his bags again: this time for a permanent shift to Seattle. He gives us 60 seconds of his time (he’s a busy man, right?)

What was the first festival you ever went to?

I think it was Big Day Out in Sydney when I was about 17.

Share with us your most memorable non-musical festival moment – either as a performer or a punter.

The journey getting to any festival (and home again) is always awesome.

Now give us the best ever musical moment!

Being front and centre, and looking up and seeing Jonathan Davis from Korn playing solo bagpipes.

If you could curate your own festival who would you book to play?

Tommy Emmanuel, Joe Robinson, Andy Mckee, Don Ross, Erik Mongrain, Preston Reed, Kaki King, Tom Morello, Flea.

Location is everything when it comes to staging an incredible festival event. If anything was possible, and no damage lasting, where would you stage your dream festival?

On the beach in Byron Bay.

Festival Of The Sun has an amazing lineup this year – who are you looking forward to seeing yourself? Are there any of the artists that you’ve performed with before (and can you tell us a sneaky secret about their backstage antics??)

Floating Me, Dan Sultan.

When you’re Rolling Stones Big, what are you going to request on your rider: don’t be shy. We want specifics!

Fresh coffee and a ping pong table.

Do you camp or flee when playing a festival? What are you festival must-haves if you’re staying the weekend?

Camping is awesome. You get to actually meet the other punters. Again, I must have coffee!

Catch Blake Noble at Festival Of The Sun in December alongside Dan Sultan, Art Vs Science, Ladyhawke and loads of other awesome artists.
