Australia might not get a white Christmas, but as long as Aussies Killboy are creating trap versions of our favourite seasonal carols, it’s hard to complain about anything.

The song starts off pleasantly enough, two nice-looking lads in their Xmas sweaters in front of a tree singing carols. Then the beat drops, and so do the freshest rhymes this side of the North Pole.

“Better check it twice that everything is ticked off, you don’t wanna hear a boy sing when he’s pissed off” is a particular highlight, as is “cocaine, make it rain, snow from the heavens” – not exactly what Bing had in mind all those years ago when singing about a White Christmas.

If these guys look (or sound) familiar to you, it’s because earlier this year they won the triple j competition to remix the Play School theme. “We flipped it on its head”, they said at the time, and now they’ve done likewise for Xmas.

At last, somebody saved 2016!
