Bust out your finest threads and pointiest books as Tone Deaf kicks off another huge night of partying with the barnstorming swagger of The Checks, one of New Zealand’s biggest indie bands. Clocking up NZ tours with Oasis, Muse, AC/DC, The Hives and The Killers, the band are coming across to the West Island to launch their second album, Alice By The Moon. Trading explosive bluesy rock riffs reminiscent of their fellow countrymen The Datsuns, they’re going to be drenching the Ding Dong stage in sweat in their only Melbourne show.

Joining them for the night are the space rock squall of the narco-rock juggernaught of local poster boys The Demon Parade, taking a night out from their massive Australian tour, and the rock n’ roll pig skulduggery of Johnny Rock and the Limits. Warming things up with the scuzzed out howl of Fathoms and the epic rock hammer of The Villains Lair and this night is gonna make one of those Spring Break movies look like a garden tea party.

As well as being the official unofficial after party for The Klaxons, we’ve $10 jugs to get you loose before 10pm, and DJ Falco from Germany and the sexy Tone Deaf DJ crew breaking bones on the wheels of steel until the wee hours. Get your tickets now at www.dingdong.oztix.com.au

Kicking things off with the hotly tipped Royal Chant and Kremlin Succession and we’ve got one epic night of rock n’ roll thrills plus first gig for brand new supergroup Joes Garage featuring members from Ground Components & Little Red. With $10 jugs before 10pm and the Tone Deaf DJ crew mashing it up on the decks til the wee hours get down early to rip it up and start again.

Tone Deaf gigs are the preferred ‘night off’ choice for touring bands and this Saturday 14th August we’re thrilled to welcome Sydney’s all conquering The Art as they take time out from their national tour with 30 Seconds To Mars and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club to play a one off intimate club show in the hot and sweaty confines of Melbourne’s rock n’ roll central, Ding Dong Lounge.

Since going to America as The Follow and returning to Australia as The Art last year, the band have been busting their chops playing with a who’s who of international bands – from Marilyn Manson to Them Crooked Vultures – serving up a triple dose of effervescent rock n’ roll howling.

Joining them for a massive night will be Tone Deaf’s exciting discoveries Kingswood, who you’d swear had Bon Scott reincarnated out front with his primal wail. Adding extra tang to the toppings on this rock n’ roll pizza are the existential power pop of Wilfed Jackal, Brisvegas’ rolling thunder revue with The Cairos and making their leap on to the big stage, the shimmering horizons of The Promised Land.

Kicking off a another night of the sweat dripping off the ceiling with $10 party starter jugs and the Tone Deaf DJ crew throwing shapes on, behind and in front of the DJ booth, we’re going to keep your feet going until you scream out no more!

Phew! The dirty boys in the Tone Deaf party crew are scrubbing themselves up and putting on their best party threads because one of Sydney’s hottest and most acclaimed bands are hitting up Ding Dong this Saturday 31st July to give Melbourne’s boys a lesson in how to play some of the most adventurous and seductive rock n’ roll you’ll witness all year. Bridezilla’s all girl line up (plus token boy) play some of the most mesmerising jazz-folk-pop noir this side of Surry Hills.

Joining them on a massive bill are the dark country thunder of Eagle & The Worm, the yearning West Coast folk pop of Jimmy Hawk, and the epic indie rock of San Fran Disco. Buttering us up for the night is the power pop punk attitude of Modular Lounge and the sonic dreamscapes of Borders.

Kicking the fun off with party starter $10 jugs before 10pm and the usual white knuckle thrill of the Tone Deaf DJ crew on the decks playing indie alternative psychedelic rock and garage pop anthems till the wee hours and if this isn’t shaping up to be a huge night by our usual ridiculous shenanigans then you need some new friends to hang out with.

Holy rock n’ roll balls Batman – the Tone Deaf party crew have recovered from a massive month of gigs and our livers have informed us that they’re ready for us to do it all again at Ding Dong Lounge!

Getting us back in the groove we’ve called in one of our favourite bands to headline with the brain shattering Sabbath meets Led Zeppelin rock n’ roll beast that is the mighty Redcoats! Redcoats are one of the hottest bands in Melbourne right now and if you haven’t had your solar plexus pummelled by their psychedelic riffage you need to plug yourself in here and turn it all the way up to 11.

Joining them for a night of mind bending space jams are the psychedelic wail of Alba Varden, the sonic assault of Fangs and the psychobilly surf thrash of Brisbane’s Villains of Wilhem. Make sure you get down early as opening up the night are Tone Deaf’s latest discoveries, Kingswood , who have left us flabbergasted by how much their singer sounds like Bon Scott. They’re the real deal!

As ever, the Tone Deaf DJ crew will be pumping out the tunes til 5am and you can loosen up by getting down early for $10 jugs before 9pm. Tone Deaf nights are selling out, so get down early, or get your tix from here or RSVP here for cheaper and guaranteed entry!

The Tone Deaf party juggernaught at Ding Dong just keeps on going with another night of hot and sweaty, mind bending rock n’ roll at Melbourne’s live music headquarters.

Headlining their only club show on their first Australian tour are London’s Noxshi, bringing their Wolfmother meets Led Zeppelin apocalyptic space-grunge to this intimate show. Front man Yoriyos’ old man Yusuf Islam, AKA Cat Stevens ,wanted to play too; but we politely explained we only have the hottest up and coming bands so we sent him to play Rod Laver Arena down the road.

Joining them on this massive line-up are the strutting rock storm of Dead Actors Club, and the electro rock explosions of Black & White. Add to this the psychedelic storm in heaven of Adelaide’s Lady Strangelove, the narcoleptic drone rock of our latest discoveries Buried Feather trading licks with the desert rock riffage of Crazy Craw and we’ve got one huge night of rock n’ roll damnation.

Chuck in $10 jugs until 10pm and the Tone Deaf DJ crew throwing themselves on the wheels of steel until you can’t party any more, and this night is will be one more reason you’re going to hell.

Tone Deaf nights are selling out every week – avoid the queues and get there early or pre-purchase tickets at www.dingdong.oztix.com

If you remember it all, you weren’t really there because we don’t and have no idea where all that time went. It’s Ding Dong Lounge’s 7thBirthday Extravaganza Saturday 12th June and this seven year old ain’t having pass the parcel and fairy bread – this is going to be one ripsnorter of a party. In the last seven years Ding Dong has hosted every Australian band of note; from You Am I to Wolfmother, The Drones to Cut Copy and more internationals than you can poke a stick at. It’s also had more parties and late nights than Lemmy from Motörhead and we want you to join us for this one. Pulling out the big guns, we’ve got a couple of supergroups headlining – Mike Noga & The Gentlemen of Fortune will be warming up for their tour with Band of Horses, while Davey Lane (You Am I, The Pictures) introduces his new supergroup, the Psychotic Pineapples. We can’t tell you who’s in the band but you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. Joining this huge bill will be smoking hot garage psych-rock wunderkinds The Frowning Clouds, plus our hotly tipped rising krautrock stars The Ovals and the rolling thunder alt-country of Big Smoke.

We’re looking forward to seeing staff past and present and invite anyone who’s been a regular over the years to come and do it all again. Doors open early at 7pm, $10 jugs 8 – 9pm and birthday surprises galore.

No doubt this will sell out with tickets keenly priced at $12, so go towww.tonedeaf.com.au or www.dingdong.oztix.com.au for your tickets and get ready for the biggest night of the year so far!

Floating down from Sydney and arriving in a psychedelic haze of jangling guitars and swoon inducing harmonies are Belles Will Ring in their first Melbourne headline show in over a year!

Joining them on this huge bill will be the snaking folk drone of The Sand Pebbles and nuggets of garage soul from The Bowers, while new kids on the block Strangers From Now On, The Mohan Veena and psychedelic whizz kids The Kremlin Succession will be hitting the big stage with the doors opening early at 6pm. This will be one huge night and we take no responsibility for your attendance at work in following days – you know how Tone Deaf likes to party hard, don’t make us suffer next week on our own!

Beat and ToneDeaf.com.au present Sydney’s lords of psychedelic drone, The Black Ryder, as they make their long awaited return to Melbourne for their first headline show of 2010 – and it’s a one off show exclusive to Tone Deaf @ Ding Dong. Lauded by the music press for their debut album Buy The Ticket, Take The Ride and having toured with so many big bands (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Cult) that they probably have a roadie who’s sole job is to pick up the names they can rightfully drop, this is probably your only chance this year to see them in such an intimate setting.

Joining them on the night will be the driving shoe gaze candy wheels of the much blogged new buzz band Three Month Sunset, who are setting industry tongues wagging with their driving Slowdive meets Ride sonic dreamscapes. Softening up the crowd for this night of sonic bliss will be the Black Angels meets 13th Floor Elevators primitive psychedelic jams of Dreaming with Ghosts who will be launching their debut release.

It’s also the 13th anniversary of Jeff Buckley’s fateful Mississippi swim so expect a late night tribute to the truncated life of the troubled troubadour.

Throw in Outlawed DJs and special guests on the decks, drink specials and this is going to be one huge night. Anyone who’s come down to a Tone Deaf night this year will have seen how rammed they get and this will naturally sell out, so you know the score – get there early or RSVP here for cheaper guaranteed entry.
