Midnight Oil’s huge arena tour is one thing, but I think most Oils fans would much rather the chance to catch them in their old stomping grounds of an intimate Sydney pub gig. Thankfully, for the lucky few who’ll be able to squeeze into the venue, they’re getting what promises to be the show of the tour.

Next month, the band will be taking their ‘The Great Circle’ world tour to the intimate confines of Selina’s in the Coogee Bay Hotel on Thursday April 13, one of the haunts they used to frequent when the band was starting out.

To avoid the nasty price hikes brought on by scalpers, tickets will only be available by ballot, which you can register for here before April 2 to be in with a chance – and you can only register once!

You’ll find out from Ticketek within 48 hours if you’ve been successful, and have the chance to grab your spot for just under $100 from 12pm April 4 to 12pm April 7.

That’s a bargain considering the incredibly rare nature of the show, and you’ll get emerging Sydney act Winston Surfshirt to keep you entertained if you get down early.

The ballot, and full instructions, can be found over at Ticketek. This is definitely going to be one of the most in-demand tickets of the year, so good luck.
