Gathering rave reviews worldwide ‘Blood Becomes Fire’ by Beastwars is already being heralded as one of the best metal records of 2013.
Recorded in New Zealand with Dale Cotton (HDU, Die! Die! Die!), the album features ten fierce songs retaining all the strength and psychedelic fire of their debut, alongside a powerful evolution in vision. The album also features the art of Weta Workshop’s (The Hobbit) award-winning Nick Keller.
Blood Becomes Fire will be released through Destroy Records on April 19 – available on Vinyl and CD exclusively from Missing Link/Collectors Corner in Melbourne and Utopia Records in Sydney or online. Fans can preorder the album now at www.bloodbecomesfire.com

Thanks to Beastwars we have an exclusive stream of title track coming off their 2nd album by the Kiwi sludge metal titans. Blood Becomes Fire is a song that owes as much to The Birthday Party’s King Ink as it does to the noise rock of their homeland’s Flying Nun Records. Chuck some AmRep (Unsane, Melvins, Jesus Lizard) sensibilities into the mix and you can hear exactly why Beastwars have become the huge band that they have in New Zealand. With vocalist Matt Hyde sounding so unhinged crooning out lines like “let their blood become fire’, if he knocked on your door you wouldn’t know if he was there for a cup of tea or was there to burn your house down.
