It’s been a good few months since Pond have served up their delicious live show to the east coast of our fair home girt by sea. Experienced Pond audiences (Ponderers, if you will?) would be well aware that each show dishes up a different taste. In fact, it’s so explosively flavoursome, it’s more than fair to say that a knuckle sandwich is often the dish du jour. A punch of psychedelic rock infused sheer awesomeness and fun times, right in the kisser.

Earlier this year, Pond blew the pants off Uncle Sam and Canada playing eight killer shows at Austin’s SXSW, CMW and garnering the attention of key American press and tastemakers. In April, they returned home to play two Northcote Social Club shows in Melbourne and The Standard for Sydney folk, of which all sold out. And by sold out, let’s be clear – we’re talking wall to wall, front to back, ceiling to floor, sweat inducing, jam-packed sardine style sold out.

From there, they again skipped the country and headed to the UK and Europe and lordy, what a couple of months was had. World conquering would be an accurate description of their most recent northern hemisphere adventures.

This recent showcasing of their latest fourth LP offering, Beards, Wives, Denim, has awarded the Perthites with the title of “hottest new band in the world” by none other than NME. And now they are gearing up to remind Australian audiences as to why they were bestowed with such an esteemed accolade. Bookending their appearance at Newcastle’s Fat As Butter festival, Pond will bring their everchanging live show to punters in Sydney and Melbourne this September, in what could be their last headlining shows for the year.

And it gets better. This weekend, the lads are heading into the studio to do what they do best. Set up, jam, and just see what happens. It could result in an EP called Hobo Rocket, or an album titled Man It Feels Like Space Again. Anything is possible and anyone not inside those studio walls will need to hold tight and see what is cooked up.

So whilst we wait with baited breath for the next course of the Pond smorgasbord, here’s where your next fix can be had;
