Original Black Sabbath Lineup Reforms

Written by Jim Murray on 16 August 2011

Despite Ozzy Osbourne once saying that he would only reform the original line up of Black Sabbath if (bassist) ‘Geezer would stop moaning’ the original line up of singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward headed in to the rehearsal studio yesterday to begin working on a live set and what may well become a new album.

It will be the first time that the group has performed together since 2006 and will be the first time the four have remained together for any period of time since Osbourne was kicked out of the band in 1979.

According to metaltalk.net, the band have regrouped at a secret location in the English Midlands to begin working on a live set and tour for what will no doubt be a very handy pay day for both the band and tour promoters.

There had been talk of the original line up reforming for some months, although nothing concrete seemed to come of it and as Ozzy had his reservations about playing with Butler again, it appeared that the tour might fall over on old enmities and being unable to bury hatchets over past grievances.

However, there you have it – release the bats because Ozzy is back with the original line up of Black Sabbath!
