Barack Obama Belts Out Tune With Mick Jagger, B.B. King, Buddy Guy And More

Not that we need any more proof that Barack Obama is the coolest world leader going around, but the man is a giver and on Tuesday night he didn’t disappoint as he joined a star-studded cast of blues musicians at an event in the White House.

Obama already made headlines around the world last month after covering an Al Green tune at a fundraising event, a performance that resulted in Green’s album sales shooting up over 200%.

Proving yet again to be a good sport, the President of the United State was hosting a performance celebrating blues music with live performances from the likes of Mick Jagger, BB King, Buddy Guy, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, and other notable blues musicians, when Guy goaded the President to join them during a rendition of Robert Johnson classic ‘Sweet Home Chicago’.

“We were trying to get you to sing that,” Guy says. “Because I heard you had sung Al Green, so you started something so you gotta keep it up!” Jagger then held out a microphone, and the ever cool Obama decided it was better to take the musicians up on the offer and belted out a few verses to cheers from the White House crowd.
