Azealia Banks Slams Lil’ Kim After Recording Fall Out, Publicist Denies They’ve Even Met

Up-and-coming Harlem femcee Azealia Banks has struck out against Lil’ Kim, criticizing her rapping ability over a feud on Twitter.

The 20-year old Banks, a previously noted admirer of the pint-sized Lil’ Kim, has dropped the adoration after a tipped collaboration between the two turned ugly. The pair were set to record a track for Bank’s forthcoming debut, Broke With Expensive Taste, after Banks reached out to Kim over Twitter. However, something went sour when Banks wrote “Okay so true tea is that Lil Kim got mad that I wrote a verse for her on a record I wanted her on.” A series of tweets followed, including this attack:

She then added how, “her assistant write me some long ass offensive email about how Lil Kim writes her own raps and doesn’t need anyone’s help … All this extra shit is stupid. Keep closing your own doors ma.”

Though Lil Kim’ didn’t bite personally, her management team swiftly responded by issuing a formal response to AllHipHop dismissing Bank’s claims as a fabrication:

““My client and azealia have NEVER spoke to one another or met AT ALL. Kim was actually very flattered [by] azealia’s public admiration for her, which is why it’s so hard to understand how someone who claims to be a true Lil Kim fan could flip the script so easily on someone who was supposedly their idol… It honestly seems that someone from Azealia’s team would rather have her fans buy into manufactured drama instead of buying music.”

Banks soon responded, denouncing the spat as ‘pathetic’

before leaving this final kiss-off,

It’s not the first time Banks has been embroiled in beef with other performers, the New York artist  is quickly becoming a social media controversy magnet, following her recent feud with rapper T.I. who she told to “shut the fuck up.”

The Harshest Musician On Musician Insults
The Harshest Musician On Musician Insults

Rock stars have been talking trash about each other for as long as they’ve been making music (while there may not be any evidence to support this, we bet Beethoven had some not-so-nice things to say about Mozart). And while some musicians may not be as eloquent with their words as they are with their chord progressions, what they lack in rhetoric they more than make up for with bitchiness. We count down the harshest musician-on-musician insults of all time. Watch this slideshow »
