Prince appears to be having an absolute ball with his latest musical project as he enters another purple patch (pun intended) in his career.

Fronting his all-female band, 3rd Eye Girl, the music veteran has been releasing a series of singles online, recording awesome covers, and perming up a nice new afro for his ongoing spate of touring; all while turning the group’s official twitter page into his own personal playground.

Now, the Purple One is giving fans the chance to enter his real-life playground, his Minneapolis Paisley Park mansion, in a unique concert that will see Prince, his band, and his acolytes engaging in funkified grooves, and quite possibly a few pillow fights to boot.

Prince is opening the gates to his estate for a free concert this weekend, on Saturday 19th October, for the amazingly titled late-night show ‘The Breakfast Experience Pajama Dance Party’, as Consequence of Sound reports.

Prince has a well-known fondness for late-night musical trysts, as some lucky (and not so lucky) attendees of secret shows surrounding his Aussie vist last year can attest, so it’s fitting that the 55-year-old musician’s slumber party begins from 2:o0am.

Prince will be performing alongside 3rdEyeGirl to “party till the sun comes up!” and is open to the general public for a $50 door donation, as long as they “dress 2 impress” in their finest sleepwear (but implore fans to “keep it classy”).

It’s not the first time that Prince has flung open the doors on his 12,500 square foot, $10 million dollar estate-come-recording studio to the public, having hosted an intimate late-night affair just weeks ago, but the catalyst for the new Pyjama Party is the release of new 3rdEyeGirl single, ‘Breakfast Can Wait’ – the slinky funk workout that Prince unleashed on the world with possibly the year’s best cover art, featuring comedian Dave Chappelle dressed as Prince with a stack of pancakes – inspired by a sketch from The Chapelle Show.

The subsequent ‘Breakfast Can Wait’ music video follows in the same comical vein as the single’s artwork, directed by and starring 18-year-old Prince fanatic Danielle Curiel, who dons a bob-Afro and fake ‘tache to impersonate the man himself as he rattles off sexy morning menu items like “grits and gravy, cheese eggs and jam.”

There’s no confirmed reports yet if Prince himself plans to whip up a couple of stacks with maple syrup for his early morning pyjama party concert-goers to munch on. But if not, an open invitation to the Paisley Park halls doubles as an open invitation to its kitchen, right?
