Indie buz band The Rubens, a four piece from New South Wales, have officially signed to Ivy League joining the likes of Alpine, Lanie Lane, Deep Sea Arcade, and Josh Pyke.
he three brothers Margin + their good pal Scott Baldwin are talented young chaps who were responsible for one of our absolute favourite songs of 2011 – the stunning ‘Lay It Down’ which came in at #57 in triple j’s Hottest 100 poll.
The Rubens are currently holed up in NYC working on their debut album with producer David Kahne (Paul McCartney, Regina Spektor, The Strokes) which we’ll be releasing later this year, so watch this space for more news as it comes to hand.
“We’ve been bunkered down for three months straight in the recording studio and are starting to get cabin fever,” says frontman Sam Margin. “We cannot wait to break out and play these live shows and road test the newer songs. We’ll be putting everything into them to make sure they are special.”
The guys will also kick off their first ever national headline tour in April + tickets are just about sold-out all over the country, so get in now if you don’t want to miss out. Following that run, The Rubens will be supporting the one-and-only Lanie Lane on her Bangity Bang tour in May.
