Let the collaborations begin! Following on from the success of the Andre 3000, Damon Albarn, & James Murphy collaboration song ‘DoYaThing’, Converse have announced they’ve paired another group of artists who will release a new original track on April 5th.

Tapped on the shoulder this time is Australian-based singer/songwriter Kimbra who had been riding the wave of success after bursting onto national stage where he debut album Vows has gone platinum, and onto the international stage with fellow Aussie Gotye due to the runaway success of the track ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’.

Joining Kimbra will be Mark Foster of Foster The People fame, who are fresh off 2 Grammy nominations for debut album Torches and breakout track ‘Pumped Up Kicks’, and A-Trak who is one half of DJ duo Duck Sauce who brought us the painfully catchy song ‘Barbra Streisand’.

The new track, titled ‘Warrior’, was part recorded at Converse’s Rubber Tracks studio in Brooklyn with the remained recorded while the three artists were out touring separately

Much was made of the success of the Albarn-Murphy-Andre collaboration, and Foster said that fans of the trio-collaborative gimmick are in for another treat with this song.

“I had such a good time diving into the creative process working with two incredible artists to create a sound that is uniquely our own,” says Mark Foster. “This project has given me a newfound appreciation for the power of collaboration which is something that Converse really understands.”

Check back on April 5th for a free download of the track, as well as a brand spanking new music video to go along with it. To celebrate Converse will also be releasing a new collection of footwear to coincide with the tracks release.
