Triple J announced the winners of their Unearthed competition yesterday that’ll see four more unsigned acts joining the huge Splendour In The Grass bill.

With a lineup already including the likes of Jack White, Bloc Party, Smashing Pumpkins, At The Drive-In and many, many more; we can now say, with a hearty congratulations, that Melbourne rock outfit Kingswood will be added to the bill as national winners of the Triple J comp.

Kingswood will be joining three local winnners – Byron folkies Lifeline and indie popsters Wilde Child, as well as NSW hip-hop artist Splinta – to play the music festival. The four Unearthed acts will be flown up by Triple J to deliver their musical stylings to the Belongil Fields masses.

Being Tone Deaf favourites, we’re particularly excited for the announcement that Kingswood have taken out the competition as national winners. They’ve just wrapped up a tour with Stonefield; and are currently travelling the road with fellow Melbourne rock acts Damn Terran and Money For Rope for ‘This Epic Tour’ around the nation.

We were also happy to reveal Kingswood’s latest, and second single, “Medusa” yesterday. A penetrating, seductive earthquake of aural delight. Add to this a vibrant, slicing, intimidating rush of colour soaked madness and you have the sexy yet disgusting creature that is “Medusa”.

You can watch the video for the Melbourne band’s second single below while you imagine the array of fist-pumping that’s happening at the Kingswood camp right now.
