RIP Ruby Hunter

Acclaimed singer and songwriter Ruby Hunter died yesterday 17th February at home in Victoria. Born on a billabong in South Australia’s Riverland District, she was renowned for her husky voice,; and performances with Bob Dylan, Paul Kelly and Billy Bragg. Joint winner last year of the Sydney Myer Performing Arts Award with her lifelong partner, Archie Roach, she passed away in his arms yesterday aged 54.
