Boy George is set to reunite his 1980s chart topping band Culture Club next year for a new album and world tour. This will be the first time the original line up has played together in 10 years when they first reunited after a messy break up in the mid 1980s.

The band had a notoriously volatile line up, with Boy George’s diva like antics and his often violent on again – off again relationship with drummer Jon Moss contributing to more cancellations, fights and bust ups than your average band.

The ‘Karma Chameleon’ singer told the BBC “We are getting back together next year,” he says “This year I’m doing the Here and Now tour [a collection of washed up 80s stars touring together] … on my own,” but “it’s kind of a precursor for what I’m doing with Culture Club in 2012. We’ll be doing a proper huge worldwide tour. And a new album.”
