Trent Reznor, the brains behind Nine Inch Nails and his more recent project, How To Destroy Angels, as won an Oscar! The industrial überlord has, along with composing partner Atticus Ross, won the golden statue for his contribution to the soundtrack for the ‘Facebook Movie’, The Social Network. The award for Best Original Score was Reznor’s first venture in to soundtrack work. “Wow. Is this really happening?” Reznor asked as he took the stage for the acceptance speech. “When we finished work on ‘The Social Network,’ we were very proud of our work and happy to just be involved in this film, and to be standing up here in this company is humbling and flattering beyond words.”

Speaking to journalists backstage, Reznor explained his approach. “A side of my music with Nine Inch Nails was going instrumental so it was not a huge leap or stretch to try this. The biggest challenge was working with a picture. [Director] David Fincher knew exactly what he wanted. It was one of the best experiences of my life from start to finish.”
